Masango scoops regional title

Hairdressing has an important therapeutic role in supporting individuals’ self- esteem and confidence, hairdressing competitions are therefore very important to keep these hairdressers going.
Tony Masango did it again. The hairstylist from Jabulani, previously raised the Soweto flag high when he made it to the Top 8 of the Sofn’free hair experts masters challenge 2017 and now he was announced the regional winner in the Johannesburg for the Golden Scissors Awards 2017.
Hairstylists were required to find their own models, style them take pictures and send them. An email was then sent to them notifying them that they have qualified.
The competition was open to hair stylists above the age of 18 and in possession of valid Identity Document.
There were different regions and for each region, there was only one hairstylist chosen to proceed to the finals. In the Johannesburg region, The competition was held at Maponya Mall on Saturday, September 2.
Masango was announced the top of all the talents that were competing at Maponya Mall and he is going through to the finals.
“I am really proud of myself. The fact that I am excelling in what I love means a lot to me. My business is growing and I am now getting more clients than before,” said Masango.
I am grateful and appreciate all those who have had faith in my work, they have given me the strength to enter the competition,” he added.
Masango urged the beauty and hair lovers in the Johannesburg region to come forth and support them.
“To the beauty and hair lovers in Johannesburg, I would like to call for your support. We need you for us to keep going. Come and see what we are capable of,” he concluded.
