Fenty Beauty: RiRi’s debut makeup collection to feature 40 foundation shades

Following the release of the Fenty Beauty teaser trailer on September 1st, expectant beauty fanatics await the highly anticipated makeup debut of Rihanna’s first beauty line. The brand will carry a confirmed 40 foundation shades, bridging the gap of exclusivity within the makeup world.
“Gotta represent for my girls and we come in all shades! Especially my brown sisters… been left out too many times in the makeup world,” said RiRi in response to a fan account on Twitter.
The prospect of an all-inclusive beauty brand shines a light on the topic of colourism and discrimination within the international beauty and makeup industry.
Beauty Bloggers such as Nyma Tang have demonstrated the evident beauty exclusion faced by black women and other people of colour in the makeup industry, as seen in her viral #TheDarkestShade YouTube series.
Fenty Beauty holds the promise of proving itself to be a new and progressive movement within the beauty industry, hopefully to the benefit of beauty and makeup lovers of all shades.

The makeup line is rumoured to be cruelty free and officially drops on September 8th .
