Cupcakes 4 Kids

“Our support of Cupcakes 4 Kids is the very least we can do to help combat this disease,” said Mugg & Bean Brand Manager, Adam Deane as are midway International Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

For the sugar lovers, this campaign is for you as the franchise has embarked on an awareness campaign that will not only tantalize your taste buds but will be for a good cause as well in the spirit of good deeds this Spring.

For the month of September only, all Mugg & Bean outlets will be selling lemon meringue cupcakes which will be a limited edition to raise funds for children with Cancer.

“For every cupcake sold at any outlet nationwide, we will donate a portion of the sale to this worthy cause,” said Deane.

Six years in support of the initiative, the franchise has managed to raise over half a million rands for the cause.

Proceeds will be donated to the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer organisation.

It is estimated that about 250,000 new cases of children affected by cancer under the age of 20 are reported worldwide. This is what has pushed the franchise to spearhead this initiative of giving.

The initiative kicked off on the 1st of the month and there will be two events to raise more awareness for the cause around the country, where a Wall of Generosity is constructed, at Canal Walk and The Pavilion.

The survival rate for the disease in South Africa is 50% while in developed countries is estimated at between 70 and 80% and that is why they support this worthy cause.

If you know someone whos is a survivor then you can show your support by writing the name of your cancer hero on the palm of your hand and take a picture of this next to a franchise near you with your cupcake.

You can simply upload the picture on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #CupcakeForMyHero.

Keep an eye on the Mugg & Bean SA Facebook page for details.

Deane said, “Helping save lives has never before felt so sweet. We encourage you to order a pack of 6 and challenge your colleagues and friends to do the same.”
