Bad timing for mosque burglars

24 Heinkel Road, Eldorado Park, Extension One – this is the address to a mosque that was broken into by unknown suspects

Crime in Eldos is at an all time high, leaving everyone wary of their neighbours. Places of worship like churches and mosques have been left largely unscathed by burglaries, but criminals have resorted to burgling even these institutions for a quick buck.

24 Heinkel Road, Eldorado Park, Extension One – this is the address to a mosque that was broken into by unknown suspects.

According to Husain Evans, imam at the mosque, a worshiper who attends prayers at the mosque said that the burglars probably entered the place of worship through the roof, which leads to the female section onto the balcony area.

Evans surmised that they probably jumped down into the mosque where they broke into the room containing the goods that were stolen.

How this was possible is a good question to ask. The mosque is currently under construction and the top is left open. The construction leaves it vulnerable and an easy target for criminals.

Substance abusers within the community are willing to go to extreme lengths for their next fix and Evans hopes that this was not the case.

According to Evans, the suspects stole clocks, speakers, and even the alarm system pad. Ironically, this story took a funny turn, when one of the suspect’s brothers went back to the mosque in an attempt to sell the very same clock that was stolen.

The clock was identified by the unique Arabic markings engraved on it. Talk about bad timing.
