White Star launches South Africa’s biggest breakfast event

Eating breakfast took on a whole new meaning on Saturday, July 29, when maze meal brand White Star, called upon the entire country to help set a record by participating in the Biggest Breakfast Challenge.

The Biggest Breakfast Challenge also played a huge role in feeding thousands of pupils from 26 schools across the country.

While South Africans were participating in this event, these children were enjoying their own bowl of soft porridge to help set the record in their own special way.

Thousands of South Africans invaded Maponya Mall in Klipspruit and Mega City in Umlazato take part in the Big Breakfast Challenge.

“The record may have been set for the Biggest Breakfast but the challenge is on for all South Africans to enjoy a healthy and nutritionally rich breakfast every day.

Start your day the right way with White Star and its creamy, delicious, affordable and convenient range of porridges,” said White Star’s Marketing manager Mokhele Makhothi.

In Soweto, award-winning Scandal actress, Mapaseka Koetle-Nyokong was the programme director for the day while entertainment was provided courtesy of Sjava.

In addition to the entertainment and festivities, there were dance competitions and prizes were up for grabs.

At the end of the festivities, one Sowetan Jabulani Yende walked away with a grand prize of R5 000.
