Praising the Lord through music

"I view singing Gospel music as a way of administering God's word to his people."

Gospel music is often seen as a career by some musicians, but Tebogo Seleke believe that gospel music is a way of spreading the word of God to the people.

Seleke’s musical career started in 1990’s when he was singing in Amadodana Aseweseli junior choirs and finally went solo in 1994.

“In 1994, I released my debut gospel album called Ntayele Morena. The album was well received by gospel music lovers,” said Seleke.

He released his second album dubbed Joko Ya hao Ebobebe which is a tribute song to his late father.

“It was my late father’s favourite track. Recording this track was the best way of honouring him. The album consists of 13 beautiful tracks. I’m actively promoting the album through community radio stations and also performing at local events,” added Seleke.

Tracks to look forward to in this album include, We bless your name, Nkosi Siphathe Nge Tarhu and title track Joko Ya hao Ebobebe.
The artist grew up in a Christian background where his love for music was ignited from a young age.

“I didn’t choose to sing gospel music but Gospel music chose me. Whenever God has a purpose about a person in life, He follows that person until the person obliges.

“I view singing Gospel music as a way of administering God’s word to his people,” explained Seleke.

He is currently working on his third gospel album which he promises will be great.

On September 9, he will be performing at Thabang Primary School where he is also working as a teacher.

As if that is not enough, the talented artist will be performing at Muruleng in Rustenburg on September 23.
