The Westbury Theatre featured a crew which goes by the name of UNiQUE. They ministered a classic spoken word drama which spoke to every generation.

UNiQUE is a ministry of young God-fearing people who received the revelation to minister God’s Word through the performing arts.

According to the crew captain, Cole Petersen, UNiQUE was founded in 2010 as a dance crew but later changed to a ministry. “Now we use our gifts and talents for God’s glory.

Recently we’ve been growing with serving backstage as well,” he said. They make reference to the scripture 1 Peter 4:10-11 which reads: “As every man hath received the gift, even so, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

The youngsters ministered their piece Father of Faith which was broken down into twelve segments.

It started in Genesis which depicted the creation of the boy and moved to Laid Away when he was put into the world to his ultimate anointing as a son of David.

Head of poetry, Theeson Prins said,“The power of words being used to communicate Gods’ beauty and to connect hearts. Just as the Father spoke everything into life so the word brought life and everything beautiful was perceived from it.

“Our world is one that is in need and in search of true hearts. This is defined in the heart of worship, a pouring out of the heart to glorify the Father which is a state of true beauty.

“The mind is not able to unravel beauty but the heart is. The mind can only behold it.”

Prins added that the vision of the spoken word performance was to convey the message that we live in a world where truth is misunderstood, where charm is deceptive and beauty has become a fading idea.

He added that beauty had lost its purity, its truth, its respect, its authority and its heart. Prins believes that the scriptures revealed that the power of life and death lay in the tongue because that which is spoken has the power to either shape lives or destroy them.

The crew is comprised of about twenty members from Florida, Riverlea, Bosmont and Ennerdale and they rehearse on Saturdays at the Riverlea Recreation Centre from 9 am to 1 pm.
