Nouvelle Beaute’ Women’s Day Spa Treatment

"It was wonderful, I really enjoyed it. The company was excellent and they are very generous, kind, loving people..."

On Women’s Day students from the Nouvelle Beaute’ course hosted a spa day treatment to spoil the ladies in the area and to raise funds for their next training session.

The course is run by Dr Anton van Niekerk, a registered Natural Health Practitioner (NHP), BCom Industrial Psychology graduate and an internationally qualified beauty therapist, and counsellor Annetjie du Toit (62), who facilitates the entire programme.

The course is based at the Brixton Recreation Centre. The aim was to raise funds for the course to continue.

“We don’t have sponsors for them so they did it out of their own. Unfortunately, not a lot of people came to support but we are happy for those who came out to support,” said du Toit.

The teams set up for the day.

The girls created combos for clients to buy and on the day, treated their clients with what they had already received certificates for.

Frieda Chapman, a client said, “It was wonderful, I really enjoyed it. The company was excellent and they are very generous, kind, loving people and I would recommend them to people for their treatments.

“I went for a manicure and pedicure and that was excellent. The previous treatments from other beauty parlours were terrible but this experience changed it for me because now I’m not scared anymore.”

At the end of the spa day, a draw was done to nominate the clients who would be winning prizes.

The first prize was a facial and eyebrow tinting, the second prize was a manicure and pedicure and the third prize was an Indian head massage.

Prizes are valid for the rest of this Women’s Month. The students already completed health and safety, manicure, pedicure, waxing, basics of skin care and facial courses.

The team: Glory Mogudi, Bronise du Pont, Shannon Davids, Dr.Anton van Niekerk, Marcelle Smith, Annetjie du Toit and Olivia Beckett.

They are currently in their second year where they are required to pay for each assessment. They are hoping to raise enough funds so that they can do the hot stone therapy and at a later stage; nail technology, threading, cauterisation, natural body massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology.

Du Toit said that they were looking to have more spa days to raise funds.
