Eldorado Park: The revolution is not dead

"too white to be black and too black to be white."

For many years the coloured community has perceived itself to be neglected when it comes to service delivery, community engagement and information about opportunities which have been made available.

In many quarters there is a belief that coloured people are, “too white to be black and too black to be white.”

Nathaniel Williams and Altonio Jacobs took a journey around the Eldorado Park community researching what it is that the community is facing.

After all the footwork had been done, Williams and Jacobs decided that it was about time they started their own political party which would cater to the needs of the community.

Williams said, “Coloured people are politically scarred.”

The Revolutionary United Youth Communist Party (RUYCP) is about to rise on the local political landscape and ring in changes in the way the community is run.

Thanks to the works of Karl Marx, whose Communist Manifesto changed the course of history.

Although many fear the thought of communism, communists are not as horrible as one makes them out to be.

The work that a communist performs is essentially in benefit of all who rule, or otherwise, in practice, a single authoritarian party controls both the political and economic systems.

To paint a picture of what communism actually is, it is a system of government where the state plans for the economy as well as controlling it, where an individual party holds power.

In order to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods and services are equally shared by the people, this is what Williams and Jacobs are wishing to achieve with the RUYCP in Eldorado Park.

Williams said, “The project is all about empowering the youth, bettering the community, the safety of our children as well as fighting for free education. The main vision is to be an independent community. What the community gives in to the project is what will be generated back into the community.”

Williams added that he was not seeking votes, but that he was looking for a growth in membership and people who would support the campaign in an effort of creating an independent community.

Every Monday, Williams, and Jacobs will have meetings to discuss the way forward as well as a question and answer sessions to get ideas and suggestions from the community.
