How to ‘Mattify’ your lipstick

Tips to enhance that look!

You love a good DIY makeup, don’t you? Another season is about to end, and a new one will start before we know, but the matte lipstick trend is clearly not budging.

Matte lipstick look is currently in style, however, finding your desired colour of it might be a struggle and matte lipsticks are often quite costly.

And besides, there’s a time and place for bright, glossy lips, ideally when you’re not eating, drinking or wandering too far from a mirror.

However, when you need the staying power, it is matte all the way. If you only have shiny colours on hand, don’t panic, you can fake the matte look.

There’s no need to buy all new lipsticks to get this look. You can transform any of the lipsticks you have into a matte one just by using a piece of tissue and translucent powder/baby powder.

Here’s what you need to do to ensure that your matte look will be as vibrant and long lasting as possible:

Step 1– Apply your non-matte lipstick as usual

Step 2– Take your tissue and separate the layers so that you have one fine sheet

Step 3– Lay the single tissue sheet over your lips and use your brush to dust your powder over your lips. This is to filter the amount of powder applied. The best advice is to start small and build up so that you can reach your desired texture without over doing it

Step 4– Remove the tissue and dust the directly onto your lips one final time.

Then Viola! You now have a velvety matte texture.
