Boxers taking on Botswana blow-by-blow

Professional boxers

Dobsonville Boxing Club duo Lunga Mngoma and Vusi Zwane, junior and lightweight contenders respectively, will be fighting unknown Botswana opponents in a boxing match to be held in the country.

According to their trainer Matsaya Tsotso, both of their opponents are unknown but they promised to represent club and country by returning victorious.

He said, “Both matches will be held at the Grand Palm Hotel Casino and Convention Centre on August 8.”

“Zwane will be facing Kutlwano Ogaketse and Mngoma will be fighting Tshepang Babui.”

They left South Africa last Wednesday and were expected back in the country on August 10.

Mngoma has one professional fight under his belt and Zwane will be making his professional debut.

“We are satisfied with the preparations at this stage and both boys are ready to take on their opponents, “said Tsotso.

It’s all systems go for Dobsonville boxers Lunga Mngoma, Vusi Zwane and their trainer Mtsaya Tsotso.

Zwane said he was looking forward to making his professional debut and promised to come back home victorious.

“I have 25 amateur fights with a record of 20 wins, three losses and two draws. Not knowing my opponent will not be a major stumbling block because he doesn’t know me either.

“I’m a quick reader of a fight and I know what is expected of me when I step into the ring, “said a confident Zwane.

Dobsonville Boxing Club has produced nine professional boxers and hopes to grow this number by moulding aspirant fighters into professionals.

“We hope to produce more champions in the near future, however for us to realise that, we need support from parent and sponsors,” said Tsotso.
