Gauteng police requesting for information linked to Dumi Masilela’s death

Senior police team to pay homage to Dumi Masilela's family

Provincial spokesman Lieutenant Kay Makhubela has indicated that police need information linked to the murder of TV star Dumi Masilela.

Makhubela confirmed early this morning that no arrests have been made.

“We are pleading with the public to come forward with information regarding this incident. We can only make a breakthrough if we have concrete information,” said Makhubela.

Masilela was shot last week in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. He was travelling with a friend at the time. He played the character of Sifiso Ngema on Rhythm City.

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, will be visiting the family later today with senior officials from the South African Police Service (according to a media advisory issued by her division).

Officials will be departing from Kempton Park Police Station at 1 pm.
