Setshego Foundation brings joy to kids

Setshego Youth Development and Child Hold Headed Foundation is all about bringing laughter and comfort for underprivileged children.

The Setshego Youth Development and Child Hold Headed Foundation (SYD and CHHF) celebrated Mandela Day by going to paint Sunshine Day Care Centre and donate toys and some essentials for the kids in the day care.

The founder of the foundation, Setshego Kgobane elaborated that the foundation was birthed by the desire to impart joy inside the hearts of the children from disadvantaged families.

Kgobane said, “We identified the gap and sought to close it because other children do not get to be celebrated at all.”

The children from Sunshine Day Care were delighted to receive the toys from the foundation, they sang a few songs of jubilation and the principal for the foundation, Phumzile Ngubeni expressed her excitement and astonishment, she said, “I am so happy, and I thank God for this, I never expected all this, the painting of the school and all these toys for the crèche, it’s all wonderful.”

Masakwameng said, “Foundations like the SYD and CHHF have been making such an impact in the community, and as Areshomeng Holdings, we would love to extend support and help them along with the other young persons making moves, not only in Diepkloof but in the whole of Soweto.”

Nhlanhla Mdluli of the Zodwa Khoza Foundation and Gains explained that the roots of their foundation stem from Diepkloof, he said, “We want to invest and help people have a vision and be able to dream. If we touch one life, we can touch more lives like a snow ball effect.”
