Cancer has claimed yet another South African Celebrity and in reminiscence, we take a look at some SA celebrities whose lives were cut short by cancer.

1. Ray Phiri

The ‘Stimela’ hitmaker died on July 2017 after a battle with lung cancer


2. Thandi Klasseen

Legendary singer Thandi Klasseen died at the age of 86 in 2017 after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer


3. Mduduzi ‘Mandoza’ Tshabalala

Kwaito star and Nkalakatha hitmaker Mandoza died on September 2016 after a battle with brain cancer

4. Koyo Bala

Koyo Bala died in 2016 at the Cape Town hospital after losing the battle against anal and colorectal cancer


5. John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu

Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Shoes died in 2015 at the age of 49 after a long battle with cancer


6. Busi Mhlongo

Songbird Busi Mhlongo died at the age of 62 in 2010 after a long battle with breast cancer


7. Vuyu Mokoena

Gospel Star Mokoena died in 2008 because of brain tumour, before that he was diagnosed with Leukemia
