Eldorado: Taking Barbering out of the backyard

Barbers Workshop to take place this Saturday

To a lot of people getting a haircut is quite a no brainer. It might be a no brainer to the one sitting in the chair, but to the one holding the clippers, it is a completely different story.

A barber is not just a barber but it takes skill, technique, and passion for one to become a great barber. One can’t be a great barber if you are not willing to learn from others.

On July 26, a workshop for barbers will take place in in Eldorado Park. It was aimed at introducing male grooming to the locals.

Organiser Lesley-Ann Enique said, “We want to get all the role players involved that can possibly get them funding and get their companies registered. These are the guys that will be present that day.”

This workshop will not be just for barbering but for the business side of barbering, as well as attempting to give the barbers in Eldorado Park formal training.

More importantly to showcase the talent that the barbers in the community possess.

A few other things that the workshop will touch on, is getting the barbers involved in competitions in order for them to boost their current skills and techniques.

Enique said, “Our boys are really talented I must say.” She then added, “We want our children to one day to say to their fathers, ‘you know what, I want to be a barber.”
