The 2017 Raga Bolo finalè entertains

Raga Bolo is the future of South Africa's soccer

A day meant for a soccer tournament became an entertaining outside experience for residents of Rockville.

On their camp chairs, they enjoyed themselves whilst entertained by the Smirnoff Raga Bolo final on July 8 at the Soweto Cricket Stadium.

“The boys who were playing today showed us the real soccer we use to play growing up. We never had green grass that the PSL (Premier Soccer League) provide we but played on the concrete streets and dusty grounds and still appreciated it.

“I’m very humbled to say that these boys playing here are the future of the PSL. let them take over because the ones playing now are just taking out the spirit of soccer I now prefer watching Real Madrid then Pirates because they are not serious so, yes Raga Bolo is the future of South Africa’s soccer” said Vincent Ramaphosa.

The Smirnoff Ragabolo final had the likes of Sibusisio “Rhee” Zuma, retired Bafana Bafana Icon, Thabo Mngomeni and Benedict Vilakazi.

Former Orlando Pirates players, Pollen Ndlanya and Stanton Fredericks also graced the event. All these stars added weight to the 2017 Smirnoff Raga Bolo Five-side-street soccer championship as one of these years Smirnoff Kings.

“I don’t want to lie I came for the free alcohol and entertainment but when these boys were playing I was star struck. I really thank God that the PSL presenters were here as well to witness such talent because really if these boys can be taken under the PSL they will show flames.

“For once I will be interested in soccer again because right now I’m not liking any of Pirates or Chiefs players who are playing nonsense and unfit. This is a call to the PSL to bring some changes because we want our old spirit we had for soccer,” said Thomas Mofolo.

Nice game it was where Yaya’s Tavern, a team from KZN won and proved that hard work pays off.
