Mandela Day 2017: Making an active difference
July 18 marks a significant day in the lives of the people of South Africa. Mandela Day is a call to all the citizens of our nation to contribute towards the growth and aid of the country as a whole
Mandela Day 2017 has ignited the generosity of the nation as thousands of South Africans have spent their morning dedicating their time towards aiding the less fortunate.
In the spirit of Madiba’s 99th birthday, South Africans young and old, individually and collectively, have pledged their service towards changing the lives of others.
Mandela Day is a national and international commemoration of the life, selfless leadership and enduring service of former President Nelson Mandela.
Whether 67 minutes, 67 days or 67 years, it has now turned to the people of South Africa to lead the way in creating a better South Africa for all.
Tweeps have taken to the streets, homes, schools, and organisations of South Africa to contribute their time, energy and love in honour of #MandelaDay.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” ~ Nelson Mandela.
