SABC 2: An afternoon with the stars at Southgate Mall
Various SABC 2 TV personalities and soapie favourites attended the highly anticipated event.
SABC 2 in partnership with Eldos 87.6FM, hosted an official celebrity meet-and-greet session at Southgate Mall on July 8.
Scores of eager fans were treated to the opportunity of interacting with their favourite local SABC 2 TV stars.
Various SABC 2 TV personalities and soapie favourites attended the highly anticipated event.
The meet-and-greet featured Fokus anchor, Lynette Francis, 50/50 presenter, Ashmund Martin and 7de Laan actors, Dann-Jaques Mouton (‘Justin Booysen’), David Rees (‘Chris Welman’) and event host, Jacques Blignaut (‘Vince Meintjies’).
The meet-and-greet also featured 7de Laan actresses, Deirdre Wolhuter (‘MariaanWelman’), Quinne Brown Huffman (‘Connie van der Lecq’), Ingrid Paulus (‘Vanessa Meintjies’) and event co-host Mimi Mahlasela (‘Aggie’).
Fans were engaged in fun on-stage dancing and singing competitions throughout the event and received prize hampers for their efforts.
The crowd also had their general knowledge tested as Mimi and Jacques posed lightweight 7de Laan trivia questions to the fans.
The event was also used to promote TV licensing. An on-site SABC TV License registration stand was made available for attendees in need of licensing assistance and registration.
The crowd was filled with excitement and anticipation as young and old, families and friends patiently awaited the entrance of their local SABC 2 favourites.
Cheers and screams echoed throughout the Southgate Mall court as each TV personality made their way on-stage. Overjoyed fans were able to receive an autograph from each SABC 2 TV personality and many used the opportunity to snap a quick selfie with their favourites.
Jacques emphasised the notion of a family at the meet-and-greet and encouraged everyone to remember that SABC 2 is about family.
“We are all family here,” exclaimed the actor. His testament aligned with the broadcaster’s slogan, ‘Where you belong!’
The event ended on a joyful note, as grateful SABC 2 supporters walked away with autographs and the wonderful experience of meeting their beloved on-screen SABC 2 TV personalities.
