Two learners from Progress Comprehensive High School, in Pimville, Andrew Mosia and William Van Wyk have made it to the top of the 2017 AMPED Talent Development Programme.
AMPED is a high school youth entertainment development programme, it provides them with an in-depth understanding of the entertainment industry.
Out of 20 000 under 19 youth contestants from across Gauteng, the boys have made it to the top 1500 contestants that were progressed to the next phase of the competition.
They went on a 2-day, 1-overnight stay at a camp, for a workshop, where both creative contestants and AMPED leaders received masterclass training in their respective creative talent and business areas.
The workshop included some of the South African’s finest industry professionals, celebrities and special guests who interacted with the contestants as facilitators, mentors and guest speakers hosting various training sessions.
The aim of the workshop was to provide a solid foundation of skills and education specific to the entertainment industry and introduce learners to the various career possibilities that exist for them.
“I enjoy dancing and I’m very grateful that my school gave me an opportunity to do what I love and excel in. I am going to make them proud,” said Andrew Mosia.
William Van Wyk explained that he is more than happy to have arrived where he is now with the competition and he is determined to work hard to remain in the competition until the finals.
