Gauteng Department of Health Commemorates child protection week

MEC of Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa visits Nike Stadium to commemorate Child Protection Week.

As part of the Child Protection Week, the Gauteng Department of Health in partnership with different stakeholders hosted an event at Nike Stadium in Pimville.

This was to create awareness of children’s protection against all forms of abuse, for the promotion of child welfare as well as to highlight the importance of creating safer communities.

Speaking at the event, Dr Gwen Ramokgopa emphasised that children should be kept happy and must be protected from harm.

She also urged children not to trust strangers.

This year’s theme is #Saveme, don’t hurt me. Children from different schools were invited, they brought entertainment to the event and food and refreshments were provided.
