Friday action night in our very own backyard

Victory Sport Productions (VSP) had Eldorado Park in awe as they hosted the “Gauteng Block Buster” boxing spectactular. Tebogo Malosi, Gauteng welterweight champion had all eyes on him as he defeated Ntanzani Zenzele.

Malosi made it clear that he is a champion as he was victorious after the hard-fought 10 rounds. Empowered by Boxing South Africa (BSA), VSP was able to pull off a stupendous event with the support of the Eldorado Park community. The Don Mateman Civic Centre was packed as the community came out to support their family and friends as they gloved up.

Representing Eldorado Park, Anslin Booysen took his fair share of blows to the face and body as he lost to Lebogang Mpitsi by a fine margin in a six round featherweight fight. Nathania Bhania and Melissa Miller slugged it out real hard as they both took many blows but surprisingly, the fight ended in a stalemate.

Overall, there were a total of 10 fights in the Gauteng Block Buster that had the crowd biting their nails as uppercuts, jabs and a few rights were thrown around the ring.  Of the 20 fighters who were present, Miller, also an Eldos representative and four other names featured on the fighters’ list.

They were Steve Dewu, Tumi Nakedi, Antonello Marre and Khaya Mbese. To keep the crowd entertained between fights DJ Gamzo spinned the vinyls and provided foot stomping beats for the assembled crowd.

No Limits Academy International and female rap artist Robyn “Phoenix” Wright danced and rapped to keep the audience rapt. BSA chairperson, Ntambi Ravele also made an appearance in support of the event. The night kicked off at 7 pm and ended in the early hours of the morning after the last blows were exchanged.
