Meet Diana Robertson-Tsotetsi, Eldo’s very own

Mrs Africa Continental Finalist from Eldo’s.

Diana Robertson-Tsotetsi has been selected as a 2017 Mrs Africa Continental finalist. This is the biggest and most prestigious pageant for mature women on the African continent.

The mission of Mrs Africa is to give dignity back and assist in any way possible in our local communities and on the African Continent. This is undoubtedly a huge achievement for her in the community.

As a teacher from Eldorado Park Primary School, a Master student from the University of Johannesburg and Afrikaans Ambassador, Robertson-Tsotetsi wants to be a role model for young girls in Eldorado Park – specifically the young girls involved in her dance initiative. She constantly teaches about chasing your dreams and doing the impossible.

Growing up in Eldorado Park and now a finalist in this prestigious woman empowerment movement will allow her to practice what she teaches and afford her the chance to inspire many young girls.

The Africa Pageants Foundation supports the Nzuri Project which aids surgical procedures being carried out on women living with Endemic Goiter or Fistula Conditions, the Dignity Dreams project which is a non-profit organization that manufactures and distributes washable, re-usable feminine sanitary wear to underprivileged girls and women and DeskBags who manufactures and distributes a school bag that doubles up as a lap desk.

Her personal charities include the library start-up at Eldorado Park Primary School. She also has an “off the streets” dance project called Leap of Faith – an initiative to keep the young girls of the community off the streets and busy with something positive and meaningful.

Lastly, Robertson-Tsotetsi is the founder of Own Your Destiny, a programme that teaches unemployed young women who didn’t have the opportunity to study further or complete school an opportunity to obtain training in several beauty treatment courses to allow them to start their own businesses or find employment. The prestigious final pageant week and gala event is set to take place from October 29 to November 5 in South Africa.

Robertson-Tsotetsi needs a lot of votes from the community to make it. She said, “I believe in my community and feel that this is an opportunity to present the positive face of Eldorado Park to South Africa, the African continent, and the world.”
