Emndeni: Man arrested for contravention of a protection order

Naledi Police arrest a man after forcing to see his child who is in the mother’s custody.

The Naledi police members arrested a 48-year-old man from Emndeni Extension for contravention of a protection order last week Monday.

It is alleged by the complainant, that on Sunday afternoon she received a call from a lady who looks after her child on weekends saying that the child was vomiting and that she must come and fetch her.

The complainant further stated that she asked the childminder to take her child to her place of residence as she was still at a funeral in Dlamini.

She further alleged that she received a phone call from the child’s father.

The father started swearing at her and calling her names and she ended up hanging up the phone. Out of anger, the father then proceeded to the complainant’s place of residence and found the cousin.

The father was swearing at everybody in the yard and was still calling them names.

The complainant came back and hid at the neighbour’s house until the father left.

It was later discovered that the child had too many sweets and that’s the reason she was vomiting. The father was later arrested for contravention of a protection order and crimen injuria.

In another incident on the same day, police also arrested a 35-year-old man from Naledi for contravention of a protection order.

It is alleged by the complainant a 57-year-old woman that, her nephew had locked her out of the house and that she had a protection order against the suspect that clearly states that he may not abuse her physically, emotionally or prevent her from gaining access to the premises.

The suspect was arrested and charged.
