An opportunity for unemployed youth

BasadiPele invites unemployed young people to apply for a skills development programme.

Youth unemployment is one of the challenges currently facing this country. Unemployment rates are estimated to be at 26% and this is a course for concern for a country with a big chunk of its population being young people.

In a bid to counter these shocking statistics, BasadiPele Skills Development and Training has teamed up with Zigna Training and came up with a training programme targeting unemployed young people with matric certificates.

Those interested in the programme will be trained in accredited NQF courses. Fields of study include health promotion officers, community health care and occupational health and safety child and youth care.

“The course will run for 12 months with the first four months being theory and the last eight months being practical…. Yes practical so not only will you have a certified and accredited NQF certificate but have some experience as well,” said Palesa Kubu, founder of BasadiPele.

The practical part of the training crucial as it will help trainees move a step closer to being employed in their respective fields.

Kubu urged those who intend on applying to be part of the programme to make sure that they fully commit themselves.

Bursaries have been preapproved and all that is needed is a commitment from unemployed matriculants who want to learn and grow themselves.

To be considered for this opportunity of a lifetime one needs to be younger than 29 years old and be a South African citizen.

A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a Tax Ref Number must be submitted with the application before the end of business on May 26.

Emphasising the issue of commitment, Kubu said, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that has never been brought to our community. So take full advantage of this opportunity and never look a gifted horse in the mouth.”
