MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane horrified over brutal killing of #KaraboMokoena
The MEC has been dealing with murder women murder cases this week.
The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi–Malobane, accompanied by senior officials from the South African Police Service visited Karabo Mokena’s family yesterday to offer hope of justice and words of comfort.
The MEC’s visit to the Mokoenas followed her brutal murder last week.
Malobane arrived at the family house from another case of a woman who was murdered in Soweto. Malobane said, “I have just come from another case of such violence against women, I wonder what is happening in our country.”
The MEC was briefed upon arriving on how Karabo was allegedly killed and burnt beyond recognition by her boyfriend, Sandile Mantsoe, in Sandton, North of Johannesburg.
Malobane said, “This came as a shock to the whole country and these cold incidents keep multiplying.”
Karabo’s body was found in a veld in Bramley. Her death has sparked a nationwide outrage and debate on the scourge of gender-based violence.
The family, along with friends will hold the memorial service today at the Diepkloof Community Hall at 3 pm.
The details for the funeral will be announced at the memorial service.
