Did you know about Protea Glen College in Soweto?

"I can guarantee the community that our college is legit and prepared to do good by its community.”

One of our government’s principles is that our communities have right to education and should at least have a better access to education.

The Protea Glen community is now fortunate that they will no longer travel long distances for education as there are people who took that responsibility of bringing that close.

Lately, Theo Ntolo, Busiswa Fanana with their colleagues Thabo Lephakga (Manager) and Thabo Moeti, all from Protea Glen, have put their heads together and established The Protea Glen College.

It was registered with the Higher Education with accreditation number: ACC/2017/07/0018 and it is based in Sizwe Shopping Centre, well known, as Boxer in extension four.

“This college is basically into helping our community and we are also thankful to the Telkom Future Makers program as it made this possible and still assisting with data and internet connection,” Said Theo Ntolo, Head of IT department.

The college has been operating from 2013 and within that short period of time, it has showed commitment in helping the community.

“Last year, we were offered bursaries to at least 19 people to offer them free computer literacy lessons, but only eleven (11) people completed the course as others thought we were the so called ‘fly by night’ school, but I can guarantee the community that our college is legit and prepared to do good by its community,” Said Thabo Lephakga the college manager.

The college is offering courses from Information Technology System Support, office Administration and Computer Literacy.
