Breaking News: Suspected ritual killing cause a stir in Orlando East

Angry residents are threatening to burn the suspect’s house.

Residents of Orlando East are fuming following the murder of a five-year-old boy in what is suspected to be a ritual killing.

A 21-year-old has been arrested and was due to appear in court today.

A group of angry residents is staging a protest outside the suspect’s house threatening to burn it.

Community leaders have been called to the scene to calm the situation.

Phindile Senye, a member of Ward Committee for Safety, has called for calm and asked residents to allow the law to take its course.

“What is important now is that we should support the family of the boy who lost his life. Burning the house will not help us now especially because the matter has been reported to the police,” Senye told a group of angry residents.

It is alleged that the suspect killed a chicken and drank its blood before going out and did the same to the boy who was playing soccer on the street.

Police confirmed the suspect was due in court today.
