Three taxi operators were shot in Mofolo and died on the scene. They are believed to be affiliated to the Witwatersrand African Taxi Association (WATA).
The trio was gunned down yestermorning at 7 am next to USave Shoprite Centre in Mofolo.
According to a story published by the Sowetan on page 2 dated Thursday, April 5, 2017: The names of the deceased are Andisa Hadebe from Dobsonville, Albert Msiya from Zola North and Lunga Tshabalala from Jabulani.
Police have not made any arrests yet and haven’t ruled out the possibility of this being taxi violence over disputes for routes by taxi associations.
On April 5, 2016: Sowetanlive reported on a story involving Nancefield Dube West Taxi Association (Nanduwe) and Witwatersrand African Taxi Association (Wata) fighting over pick-up points in Mofolo, Orlando West, and Central Western Jabavu.
