Raga Bolo competition is back again

Tavern soccer teams can now gear up for the Smirnoff Raga Bolo competition

A total of 136 tavern teams from different parts of the country will once again battle each other in the Smirnoff Raga Bolo Championship.

This time around winners will walk away with a whooping R 150 000.

This five-a-side street soccer competition begins with a district league taking place in 14 regions which are Soweto, Tembisa, Soshanguve, Katlehong, Bloemfontein, Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Polokwane, East London, Port Elizabeth, Umlazi, Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Mashu, and Khayelitsha.

Teams will compete for the top spots in regions and the best 66 will then compete at the provincial level before going to the national finals set to take place in Gauteng in July.

Last year’s winners, Maqando Fudu Tavern will be back to defend their crown.

The runners-up, Ekuthuleni Tavern will be taking part as well with the aim of winning this time around.

Kyle Lesch, marketing manager for Smirnoff 1818 said between March and July, these teams will be ripping their kasis and everyone is invited to go and cheer them at matches being played all over South Africa.
