The Great Gatsby evening hosted for community upliftment

Fordsburg will go back to 1925 on April 1

On April 1, the Great Gatsby event will be held in Fordsburg by the Saeed Foundation. The Saeed Foundation is a non-profitable organisation who focuses on empowering and uplifting the community.

Saeed’s mission is to educate and aid the community with social development by encouraging self-sustainability, volunteering, supporting and working together.

They focus on methods of skills development in women and the youth and they provide schools, old age homes, frail care centres and shelters with feeding schemes.

The biggest challenges that the foundation faces are with funding. In order for the foundation to succeed in their services in the community, they need help from outside sources and the rest of community.

They need funding to purchase the fruits and vegetables that will be used for the feeding schemes and the funds will also help in the aid of contributing to transportation and any other needs that may be required.

To accommodate all the costs that they need, the foundation is hosting The Great Gatsby event that will allow guests to come dressed up in vintage attire.

The event will be held at the Image Lifestyle corner of Mint and Subway Street in Fordsburg. A live band with Hot-shots featuring Da Func and Lady A, dinner and cocktails will be included at a price of R250-person.The menu for the night will be South African flavourful Halaal dishes.
