Armed robbers on the run in Orlando East

Police launch manhunt after two men robbed a woman at gunpoint

Orlando Police are looking for two men in connection with a case of armed robbery.

This comes after a woman was robbed of her valuables on Tuesday morning when she was on her way to work.

Police spokesperson constable Monica Hangwani said the incident took place in Orlando East at about 7:30 on Tuesday morning.

“The women entered a Toyota Quantum on her way to town. The taxi had two male occupants, a driver, and a passenger.

“When the taxi reached Nicholas Street, the man in the passenger seat jumped to the back of the taxi with a firearm. He hit the victim with the back of the firearm before searching for valuables in her bag,” said Hangwani.

When the suspects were done, they dropped the women in Orlando East, gave her R40 and told her to run.

A case of armed robbery is being investigated by Orlando Police and no arrests have been made.
