Police honoured at Nike Stadium in Pimville for 10, 20, 30 years of service

We Salute: Police officials recognised during the medal parade

Soweto East SAPS cluster held a medal parade at the Nike Stadium in Pimville.

This was to honour and celebrate police officials for their 10, 20 and 30 years of continuous devotion, commitment, dedication and for their long distinguished service.

Soweto East Cluster major general, Patricia Rampota, explained that reasons behind the honouring of police officers is to show that this is a legacy not only for them but for other officials, especially the junior officials who just joined the South African Police Service.

“This is to indicate that being a police officer is a calling, not just a career – perseverance and bravery are key to be able to serve the nation.

“We know that being a police is a difficult job and honouring and celebrating them is a way of motivating and encouraging them to work even harder,” Rampota added.

These men and women put their lives at risk to protect the nation.
