Outreach programmes are what the SAPS is doing now to get the message across

 

 

House robbery suspects still on the run

 

Protea Glen SAPS hosted an outreach program for residents in extension 24 to bring awareness to criminal activity in the area.

Communication officer of the department, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng said, because the area is still developing with new homes being built, not many residents live in the area.

He said that during the day it gets very quiet, therefore there is a huge problem of house break-ins that residents that are there are exposed to.

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) members joined officers on the streets handing out pamphlets and giving talks to residents alerting them on safety tips on how to avoid house robberies, house breaking, and theft situations.

The areas in Protea Glen that are mostly affected by the above mentioned crimes is Sector four which comprises of extensions 11 – 29.
