Don’t use open space between Moroka North and Jabulani Mall – Police

Know who to contact during any crime activity in your local area

The Moroka Police warn residents of Moroka North and Jabulani about a robbery hotspot in Jabavu. Police urge residents to refrain from walking in the open space between Moroka North and Jabulani Mall near the train station.

“Residents use that open space to cross from Moroka North to get to Jabulani Mall and vice versa, but that place is dangerous because there is a perpetrator there that robs people and he also rapes people,” said Sergeant Matsobane Lekalakala.

“People are scared to also report him every time he commits these crimes.”

According to Sergeant Lekalakala, the perpetrator commits these crimes in broad daylight.

“We urge residents to rather make use of the main road,” said Lekalakala.

“We also plead with the community to not buy stolen goods as they will be arrested. People should also not allow strangers to help them at ATM‘s, there are still many people who report this type of crime.”

To report any criminal activities that you witness in your community contact Sergeant Matsobane Lekalakala on 079 525 1406 or Constable Pearl Nkuna on 079 525 1406. Client Service Centre Number is 011 527 0032.
