Man holds girlfriend hostage, demands that previous charges against him be dropped
Police are at the scene where a 31-year-old woman is being held hostage at gun point by her boyfriend.
The police have been at the scene since this morning, trying to negotiate with the suspect to release the victim.
“The suspect who’s 37-years-old is demanding that a case that was opened against him be dropped and only then will he release the woman.
“We have been here since 7 am with both the victim and suspects’ parents, but the suspect won’t budge, despite our efforts,” said Mbulayeni Netshivhodza of SAPS.
According to Netshivhodza, the victim had opened a case of assault with grievous bodily harm and damage to property.
“The problem is that the victim opened a case and the boyfriend wants the charges against him dropped,” said Netshivhodza.
