Abandoned baby found in Zamimpilo

Baby "Sipho" finds his temporary home in the hands of social workers

Yesterday, a baby boy was found abandoned in Zamimpilo Informal Settlement near Riverlea.

Residents of the informal settlement found him and immediately called the Langlaagte SAPS to report the abandoned baby.

Sergeant TH Magadze victim empowerment officer stated that before they could arrive, an ambulance was already called to fetch the baby.

He was taken to Rahima Moosa Hospital for a check-up. The only other information that the Langlaagte SAPS has is that he weighs 3.2kgs and that he was given the name Sipho Nkosi.

The baby boy now finds his home with the social workers at Child Welfare until they can find his parents.

If you know anything about the whereabouts of little Sipho’s parents or family’s whereabout please contact the child welfare at 011 298 8500 or the Langlaagte SAPS at 011 473 6200
