Deaths engulf Kliptown policing area

Police are investigating the discovery of two dead bodies in less than a week.

Kliptown Police are pleading for assistance in locating the family of a man who was found dead on Chris Hani Road on Sunday morning this past weekend.

The body was found by a passer-by at about 6:00 am. Police spokesperson Captain Hitler Ngwenya said the corpse had multiple wounds on the upper body.

“He was wearing a blue shirt with gold prints and leather trousers. There were plastic bags with vegetables approximately 10 meters away from the corpse,” said Ngwenya.

No arrest has been made and police are still investigating.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a body of a woman was found next to the railway track in Kliptown.

It is suspected that she was hit by a train while trying to cross the railway line. Kliptown Police have launched an inquest into the incident.
