Moroka Police conduct searches at Mncube Secondary School and Tlhatlogang Secondary School

Random searches are set to continue

The Moroka Police and the Department of Education are serious about ensuring safety at schools.

Mncube Secondary School and Tlhatlogang Secondary School were both under police and the Department of Education scrutiny last week when searches were conducted at the schools.

“We warn all learners at the various schools that we will come at any time and conduct a search at the school. This is in line with our plan to make schools a safety place for all learners. Learners who are selling drugs, in possession of drugs, weapons, and other forbidden materials will be arrested thereof,’’ said captain Mpande Khoza.

“We will visit all the schools which are under the Moroka policing area and conduct searches in those schools.

“It does not mean that if we have already searched a certain school that we will not go back to search it. Schools that are regarded as problematic schools will be visited regularly till order is restored in those schools,’’ warned Khoza.

“We want to warn learners to refrain from carrying dangerous weapons and drugs.”
