‘Keep calm your house is coming’

MMC for housing calls for calm as he sorts the housing issue.

Member of the Mayoral Committee of Housing, Mzobanzi Ntuli has called on City of Johannesburg residents to be tolerant of allocation issues.

The department committed itself to determine that all units that are finished will be allocated between the months of February and June this year.

MMC Ntuli said, “As the Department of Housing in the City of Johannesburg, we would like to appeal to communities of Johannesburg to be patient with us in terms of delays in the allocations of those completed units throughout the city.”

He released a statement saying that they are worried about the delays due to the improper infrastructure in some of the projects, namely electricity connections and the platform of making the housing waiting list transparent to people.

“Our department is currently working hard to prepare a housing list that is going to be made public, each person needs to know his or her status in terms of the list,”

“Our people are becoming desperate and have had enough of the empty words that have failed to provide refuge,” said Ntuli.

Ntuli said that they will ensure that programmes improve the lives of South Africans and even though mistakes were made in the past, they can only learn for them moving forward.
