Lens and Protea Glen rape suspects still at large
Police search for serial rapists following rape incidents in protea Glen and Lenasia.
The Soweto West Cluster SAPS is looking for three men in connection with rape cases in Lenasia and Protea Glen.
The first incident happened in Lenasia, where a woman was approached by a suspect who pointed a firearm at her.
According to information from the police, he ordered her into a small shack which was close by.
He then raped her and fled the scene on foot.
Another incident happened at an open field near Protea Glen Mall when a 19-year-old woman was going home.
Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng, communication officer said, “The suspect took out a knife and threatened her.
“He forced her to the ground and he raped her.
“After raping her, the suspect fled the scene on foot.”
A couple of weeks ago, another rape occurred in Lenasia involving another woman who was on her way home.
According to information provided to police by the victim, she was threatened with a knife by the suspect and was ordered to go with him to a nearby open field where he raped her.
Afterward, he fled the scene on foot.
Investigations are underway to search for all three suspects, as no arrests have been made.
Mashiteng said, “These men are armed and dangerous.”
