Over 20 shacks burnt down in Coronationville

Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries when a fire burned through a number of shacks in the Coronationville settlement, West of Johannesburg today.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the fire services already in attendance.

Upon inspection, paramedics found that approximately 20 shacks had been damaged or destroyed by the fire.

ER24 paramedics assessed several people and found that they had escaped injury.

Fire services battled for some time to get the blaze under control.

Residents later told firefighters that the blaze was apparently caused by an apparent explosion.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
