Kganya Recovery Centre brings new light to addicts

Kganya Recovery Centre walks for a great course

Kganya Recovery Centre together with SANCA (South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence) and the JMPD (Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department) collaborated to host a walk.

The idea behind the walk was to create awareness around the drug abuse which has been escalating.

The walk happened last week Saturday, it began at Sydney Maseko Adult School and ended at Mofolo Park.

Close to 60 participants were present to support the course.

“This walk is also to make the community aware that I’ve started a recovery centre for drug addicts.

“Most addicts are willing to quit, that’s where Kganya Recovery Centre comes in. We are willing to help,” said Jane Mhlongo, founder of the centre.

“I’m very happy with the number of people that came out to support this course, you can also tell that they enjoy being a part of this walk,” added Mhlongo.

Located at Central Western Jabavu  Opposite the Youth Centre, Kganya Recovery Centre (which means light) was established on June 20, 2015.

It specialises in rehabilitation and skills development.
