Search and find a job from right where you are

It is simpler to look for a job on the internet

Many unemployed youth of Diepkloof always rely on the internet for job opportunities and since data is expensive, City of Johannesburg has introduced a free Wi-Fi as a rescue plan.

Constantia Sephodi of Diepkloof Zone Two recently started using the free Wi-Fi in Diepkloof and Noordgesig Rea Vaya stations which are nearby each other.

Sephodi explained how the internet has simplified most things for the new generation like job hunting.

Sephodi matriculated in 2004 and has experience in sales because of her exceptional speaking abilities. She said: “With our smart phones it has become easier to search for new opportunities especially with the free Wi-Fi.”

Sephodi applied for a job through the Jozi at Work initiative which is aimed at combating unemployment using the COJ free internet connection, she is now waiting for the date of her test.

Katlego Legadima who has been unemployed for the past two years has a plumbing qualification and driver’s licence. He visits the hot spot for new plumbing and driving opportunities.

Legadima said: “The Wi-Fi spot helps a lot and keeps me hopeful.”
