Diepkloof SAPS gets school patrollers on board

Police in Diepkloof aiming to eradicate crime in schools and in the community

The Diepkloof SAPS has been on an expedition to eradicate crime in the streets of Diepkloof and the schools.

Patrollers and gatekeepers have been assigned to watch over Diepkloof and ensure total safety of the people.

Last year, some schools in Diepkloof were ailed by a string of break-ins and theft like was the case at Madibane High School and Namedi Secondary School, in the heart of Diepkloof.

The police have always been hard at work to combat and eradicate crime; they’ve held awareness campaigns and road blocks to highlight their presence in the community and successfully making many arrests.

However, the patrol commander, school coordinator and Community Policing Forum executive who deals with community safety, Sechaba Molatluli, said: “Let the community come to join forces with us and the police to reduce crime.”

The secretary for the Diepkloof SAPS Neo Moreosele opened an invitation to the youth in Diepkloof to join the CPF.

She said: “We are open from 8 am till late. People who wish to play a role in helping their community can bring forth their CV(s) along with their qualifications and ID copy to the station.”

People who are eligible to join the Youth Desk must be between the ages 18-35.

The programme for patrollers will offer participants a stipend to encourage the reduction of crime in schools so learners will learn optimally.
