Mapetla Barcelona FC owner is looking forward to making it big in the football industry

Head of Mapetla Barcelona FC, Doctor Moloi is among the candidates who are looking forward become part of the local Ward Sports Committee members.

The members will be elected on February 11 at Megatong Primary School.

Gates will be open at 7am.

Moloi is one of the determined coaches in Soweto who plays a great deal of football development in his area and he interacts with junior teams of U9, 11, 13, 15 and 17.

Mzitho, as he is affectionately known to his peers, is a man of true grit and is determined to continue developing youngsters from grassroots.

“I am a sportsman who grew up playing for Barcelona which I became the owner and coach. “I work with the juniors and we are affiliated to the Soweto Football Association,” said Moloi.

His coaching career started with Barcelona Juniors, then Mapetla Celtic Junior, Mapetla senior squad, Sourthen Gauteng squad, Crystal Palace and Jabu Stars in the Castle League and Vodacom League respectively.

He has a level one coaching course, SHFH Soweto workshop coaching seminar and Recognition certificate of contributing to the soccer development.

When asked about his future plans, Moloi said: “I want to become a soccer analyst, coach a PSL team and develop and nurture players.”

Some of the professional players who come from Moloi’s hands are Ajax Cape Town’s Thulani Serero, former Jomo Cosmos players in Sam Magalefa and Innocent Ntsume, Former Manning Rangers’ Manela Phakathi, Tiisetso Charles who played for Moroka Swallows U17 and ex Kaizer Chiefs U17 Kutlwano Mothape.

Out of the field, Moloi enjoys watching TV, reading, listening to radio, participating in extra activities such as charity and playing golf.
