Lakeview Primary School gears up for another successful year

Victor Bilankulu, principal of Lakeview is more than prepared for 2017

Victor Bilankulu, principal of Lakeview Primary School says it’s all hands on deck to make this year yet another successful one.

Plans for 2017 as in previous years are in place. A year plan with all school activities was drawn long in advance. All school staff from the school management team (SMT) up to the general workers are all geared up to carry out their respective duties. Furthermore, parental involvement is also key in collaborating with the school for the best interest of the learners.

When asked if there’s a certain strategy that he uses to run such a tight ship Bilankulu said teamwork is essential, it is effective in view of its transparency, communication and observation of relevant policies.

With an enrollment of 120 grade 1 learners this year and counting, Bilankulu couldn’t be happier.

Schools recently opened and Bilankulu was more than satisfied with the turnout of events. ‘What stood out for me was the big number of parents that filled the school. That signifies that our school is significantly recognised, parents and guardians want their children in our schools. This is attributed to the good scholastic performance of our learners and hard work of our educators over the years’, said Bilankulu.

According to Bilankulu adhering to the policies governing schools, hard work and commitment of all involved and collaborating with nearby stakeholders including NGO’S made 2016 a successful year. Developing ways to augment available resources will be an area of focus this year. ‘All stakeholders included will be involved on this in due course’, added Bilankulu.
