MP goes back to his former school to change lives

Principal Nomasonto Luvuno, Nomsa Molefe ,Orlando Matshine and Tsepo Mhlongo.

Schools were open last week and Member of Parliament (MP) Tsepo Mhlongo continues with his adopt a child campaign.

Every year, Mhlongo goes back to his former school Thembalihle Primary School in Orlando to help underprivileged learners.

This year he has taken his campaign to the next level by adopting two learners. Orlando Matshine who is doing Grade Five and Nomsa Molefe who is doing Grade Four are beneficiaries of Mhlongo’s campaign.

For the whole year, these two learners will be taken care of by Mhlongo when it comes to their schooling.

He has bought them full school uniforms so that they have a good start to the year.

“I will take care of their school fees, trips and any other extramural activities that have to do with school. I’m doing this because I want to make a difference. To make a difference to someone’s life, you don’t have to be rich or anything,” said Mhlongo.

He encouraged other leaders to go back to their former schools and do the same so that the future of this country can be secured.

Thembalihle Primary School principal, Nomasonto Luvuno expressed her gratitude for what Mhlongo has done for her learners.

“We are very happy and grateful for his support. Every year he is always with us helping our learners and we thank him for that.

“We hope that other former learners from our school will learn from him and do the same,” said Luvuno.
