48 year old man carries illegal gun in police station!

He threatened the police saying he was a general.

The police  on Saturday December 31 at about 4:30 pm arrested a 48-year-old African man for possession of an unlicensed firearm at Naledi police station.

It is alleged by the police that, they asked the suspect to remove his vehicle and park it outside the premises of the police station. The suspect became very aggressive and also impersonated a police official. The suspect claimed that he was a General of the police. The police then proceeded to search his vehicle and found an unlicensed firearm inside a bag. The suspect was then told his rights and arrested on the spot.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that there was case of pointing with a firearm against the suspect that was opened on December 28 at about 12:30 pm at Naledi police station. The suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at a 50-year-old man from Meadowlands at in Naledi and threatened to shoot him.

He will appear at the Protea Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and wilfully point a firearm at a person.
Investigations are still underway to determine if there are no further similar cases against the suspect.
