Residents shocked by discovery of a dead body, Tladi

Mamojalefa’s tragic end

A tragic and horrific death has shocked residents around the O Zone Pub in Tladi upon the discovery of MaMojalefa’s (84) body in her home.

Residents were alerted by a foul smell that had been lingering for some days and the fact that no one had entered or left the Chefane household for some time.

“At first I noticed a foul scent as I was doing my washing on December 31st. “So I went around the yard searching for a dead rat but I didn’t find one until later on a neighbour who lives two houses away complained about the same thing, so we were both confused. “The following day we chilled with another friend from the back opposite and she too noticed the smell and made us aware that she had seen some fly in our next door neighbour’s window. “Led by curiosity, we went and investigated why there were flies at the window and we noticed the house was locked with all windows closed but the smell was much stronger in MaMojalefa’s home. “We forced the door open and when we entered, we were shocked to find her laying dead on the floor with flies all over her home” said Mpho Lebepe, a resident who was at the scene. “I had left for the festive season and my mom was perfectly fine when I left her but I got the tragic news of her death via a phone call. “The most painful part of all is that she died alone and no one knows how, when and why she did,” said Dineo Mahange, MaMojalefa’s daughter.
