Six held for hijacking

JMPD police secure another victory against car theft.

Six men are due to appear at the Protea Magistrate Court on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.

The six men were arrested on Friday by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) on Impala Road in Protea.

“JMPD police officers were patrolling the area when they saw three suspicious vehicles following each other. They tried to stop them but they sped off. When they finally stopped them they discovered that one of the vehicles, a Mercedes Benz had been hijacked in Jeppe,”said Protea Glen police spokesperson sergeant Vincent Mashiteng.

The six men were detained and are due to appear at the Protea Magistrate Court this week.
